Thursday januari 8, 2015 day 14 of the estrus.
Today we went to the clinic early in the morning for a third progesterone test. Would the level be increased finaly? We are at day 14 now…
Because of traffic congestion Eva got on the vet’s table somewhat late. You could see here think:’Are we Door het nodige fileleed belandde Eva is later dan gepland op de behandeltafel. Je zag haar denken; “are we here again?! As long as I get a cookie it is fine with me” As degenerated owners we forgotten to bring cookies with us, but fortunately the vet’s cookies are as good as ours. Blood collection and the internal examination only took a few minutes and before we knew it we were on our way home.. Results will follow in about two hours..
We expected that the progesterone levels were increased significantly because Eva is offering herself to the other dogs.
We hadden nu toch wel goede hoop dat de progesteron waarde flink gestegen moest zijn, want Eva biedt zich gewillig aan. This produces hilarious scenes; Eva puts her tsail aside and Veerle “does the rest”so to speak. And this happens quite some times during the day. Because og this Veerle will grow to be an experienced salsa dancer in the futere. this way she will get smooth n the hips… And yes, even Geoff ja, ookGeoff can not escape the flirtation of Eva. She is a small monster when she puts her behind against the bench in which her finacé is ‘locked away’. on the other hand we now know that when a femal dog is presenting hersef to the stud dog it is no garantuee she has high progesterone levels and fertility is at it’s best. 
Then the impartant phone call. Yes, the progesterone levels have increased to 3.5 We are not there yet, but it is going the right way. Patience is a virtue Geoff….! the same is applicable to us… :-)
